FOOD Share named Large Volunteer Organization of the Year

FOOD Share was nominated for the Conejo Valley Days "Volunteer Organization of the Year" Award.

On May 1st, FOOD Share received this award, "Large Volunteer Organization of the year" in acknowledgement of the volunteers who so graciously give of their time to the mission of FOOD Share.

This could not have come at a more opportune time as this week is National Volunteer Appreciation Week.

Volunteers are essential in helping the food bank reach more than 35,000 food insecure people each month in Ventura County. 

Our dedicated team of nearly 400 volunteers fight hunger with compassion and commitment to help ensure that people in need have ready access to nutritious food.  FOOD share volunteers represent a cross section of individuals residing in Ventura County.

This includes corporate groups, adult service organizations, college and high school students, retired individuals, Church groups and individuals with community service requirements. 

In short, people seeking to help those less fortunate.
