Food Share is committed to respecting the privacy of both online and offline donors, visitors, volunteers, agency partners, and others. We do not trade, share, rent, or sell any information, personal or otherwise, collected on our website or through other means. We will also never send electronic or physical communications of any kind on behalf of any other organization.

Food Share will only request specific information from you in order to complete a transaction. 

If you do choose to provide us with personal information voluntarily through any form that is currently available on the site, we do not distribute this information to any third party. Your information will be added to our donor database, which is accessible only to authorized Food Share staff. This information will not be sold to or traded with other organizations or companies. We may use your personal information to contact you in the future.

Food Share requires employees, agents and contractors who have access to personal information to protect information consistent with this Privacy Policy. Financial transactions processed on the internet or over the phone with Food Share are secured in accordance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS), including credit card processing and token exchange. Food Share’s donor pages are hosted by two third parties, Stripe and MobileCause.com, that are also in accordance with PCI-DSS for its financial processing.

What information Food Share collects

You can visit Food Share’s website without telling us who you are or revealing any personal information. Our web server automatically recognizes each visitor’s domain name but does not automatically collect personally identifiable information. There are times, however, such as when you make a donation or register for our mailing list, that we will collect specific information. If you choose to provide personally-identifiable data, you may receive future information from us, by mail or email – advising you of upcoming Food Share events, services, or volunteer and support opportunities. 

Food Share complies with those provisions of the CAN-SPAM Act applicable to charitable organizations. All email messages contain a link to unsubscribe from Food Share email. 

If you do not wish to be contacted with such information, please let us know in writing or by sending an e-mail to the address in the Opt-out section below.

How Food Share uses the information collected

Except as otherwise indicated, Food Share Ventura County uses the personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”): (a) to respond to any of your inquiries or questions about our services; (b) for internal marketing and fundraising purposes, and as part of Food Share’s constituent database; and (c) to provide you additional and updated information, materials, and other advertisements regarding Food Share’s services.

Note to Parents

Food Share does not knowingly solicit data from children and does not knowingly market to children under the age of 14.

Website Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, which collects anonymized website traffic analysis. To track your session usage, Google uses a cookie (_ga) with a randomly generated ClientID in your browser. This ID does not contain identifiable information like email, phone number, name, etc. Google also stores your IP Address. We use Google Analytics to track user behavior, including, but not limited to, what pages were viewed, and for how long. This information is important to us, and the data gathered helps us improve our website and create a better experience for our users. If you would like to access what browsing information we have, or ask us to delete any GA data, please delete your _ga cookies, reach out to us using the email address at the bottom of this web page and/or install the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-On.”

Credit Card Information

Food Share has contracted the services of a banking partner to process credit card donations submitted online. Our banking partner’s secured server encrypts your credit card information so that it may be safely transmitted over the Internet. Your credit card information will not be released by Food Share or its banking partner to any other party. If there are any changes to this policy, we will post the changes immediately. Any information given to us prior to a change in policy will still be protected by the policy that was in place when you provided us with the information. By using our website and providing this information to us, you consent to our collection, use, and storage of your information in the manner described above.

Opt-Out

You may choose to opt-out of any and all communication described above by writing to us at Food Share Ventura County, 4156 Southbank Road, Oxnard, CA, 93036 or by emailing us directly at info@foodshare.com. Upon receipt and processing the request, Food Share will, within a reasonable amount of time, remove all your information from any future communications.

Refund Policy
