Last month as we were "Sharing the Harvest" a small boy, perhaps only five or six who was with his family picked up a large and delicious looking peach.. I saw him rubbing the skin and making the funniest of faces.

As he looked at me with questioning eyes, I told him that peaches just have a fuzzy skin and that you can bite right into it.  Gingerly he took a small bite. He delighted in the delicious and juicy treat, as it was heart achingly clear that this was something he had never tasted before. 

I turned away to assist another person only to turn back around to see the little boy stuffing peaches in his pockets, gathering as many as he could.  As I gave him a bag, he told me he wanted to make sure everyone in his family could taste a peach! Out of the mouths of babes! bite
